Outside Bag of Beans
Outside Bag Of Beans

It was our first time to go to Bag of Beans last Friday at Tagaytay. It’s a coffee shop and restaurant that also sells ground coffee and coffee beans, plus English pies and bread to take home with you. So, instead of going to Starbucks in Tagaytay, why don’t you try out this one? :)

Iced Caramel Macchiato at Bag of Beans
Iced Caramel Macchiato (85 pesos per order)

Me and Sha tried the Iced Caramel Macchiato. It’s a refreshing beverage with milk and an espresso shot (not really sure how many) and some caramel. I would have tried the brewed coffee but since we ordered for a Shepherd’s Pie, it would be ideal to pair it up with an iced coffee. :)

Shepherd's Pie at Bag of Beans
Shepherd’s Pie (105 pesos per single order)

Shepherd’s pie is actually ground beef and it’s cooked as a pie with a mashed potato as a crust. I’ve heard that this is just one of their specialties and it’s a must try especially if it’s your first time there. :)

Steak and Mushroom Pie at Bag of Beans

We were also able to have a taste of their Steak and Mushroom pie. This is also a must try. Sha even got one of this to take home as a pasalubong. :)

Cinnamon at Bag of Beans

But if you’re craving for something sweet, you could try their Cinnamon topped with nuts, whipped cream and a drizzle of chocolate syrup. This should go well with their brewed coffee. :)

Your raisin bread is really superb! I can’t 4get the taste of it the first time I tasted it so whenever we go to Tagaytay we see to it that we really drop by at Bag of Beans. We even bought 4 long and big packs of it for take out (going to Manila)but while we were still in car, we consumed 2 packs already so I wan’t to go back again just for the raisin bread!

Aaaahh tagaytay city… Nice place, great people. Was at rose and grace and yummy msgish bulalo but good and crispy head to tail tawilis. Next was sonya’s,taal vista then settled for bag of beans for pies. Shepherd’s pie that lacked character and seasoning and steak and kidney pie that tasted like canned dog food. Pedigree to be exact, no salt but better. Have i tried? Oh yes coz i have dogs. Is it coz it’s kidneys? Still…. Fruit pies that tasted like instant. Pastry wasnt i hope. Have i got the right to this criticisms? You bet! But i finished it anyway. Toll fee is expensive you know. I felt homey though coz of my warm waiter. He made the word hospitality meaningful to this place. No offense please:)
