Cafe Juanita: Eclectic Ambiance and Great Food Combined

Inside Cafe Juanita
Inside Cafe Juanita

Many people have recommended me to dine at this restaurant because of its great food and ambiance. There are only a few sources that give information about this restaurant but the common thing they say is that its eclectic ambiance is truly remarkable.

Actually, one wouldn’t realize that it is a restaurant because it’s full of vines and its sign is hidden. Good thing I have sharp eyes and saw that it’s already the place we’ve been looking for 🙂 . Continue reading “Cafe Juanita: Eclectic Ambiance and Great Food Combined”

Tapas Filipinas Hermanos Deli Bar

Hermanos Deli Bar

Hermanos Deli Bar is a new deli bar situated at the Ortigas Home Depot Complex. The deli bar just opened last February and had a food tasting event with the bloggers. Basically, Hermanos offers pica-pica dishes for wine or beer drinking. What differentiates this deli bar from others is that they give a different approach on familiar Spanish and Filipino pica-pica dishes. So for example, instead of using the normal ‘tapas’ they would substitute it with Vigan Longanisa. They currently have 13 dishes under the Tapas de Kastinoy (uniquely Filipino with a Spanish Twist) and 12 Pica-Pica dishes. And because this is a bar, they offer alcoholic beverages such as red and white wines, local and imported beers and many more. Continue reading “Tapas Filipinas Hermanos Deli Bar”

While waiting for the Eraserheads Reunion Concert in SM Mall of Asia to start, Karla and I decided to hang out at Bona Coffee which is just opposite the concert grounds. We have heard lots of raves about this coffee shop (especially from the Southen Manila people and bloggers too) that’s why it became a factor for us to spend our pre-Eraserheads concert time there 🙂 . Fish and Co.’s Platter Design Challenge

Malaysian-inspired fish and chips

Last Thursday, a platter design challenge was held at Fish and Co. Prior to the event, we were asked to send ingredients that we would like to use for the assigned theme. Malaysian-themed fish and chips was inspired and I had a hard time picking up which ingredients simply because of Malaysian recipes are quite similar to its neighboring countries. Almond Caramel Mocha @ Php 139 (tycoon size, top view)

Just after a very gut-filling dinner at Krung Thai, Biksa Coffee was the place to rest our tummies and have some more chat. The place was very cozy; with photographs on the wall, a love seat, free wifi and great tasting coffee. I ordered Almond Caramel Mocha. Though it’s not on the title, it has bits of bananas which complements the overall taste of the frappe. I really love it! It’s not too sweet and the taste of coffee was just right. Krung Thai: A Hidden Thai Cuisine Getaway in Marikina

Thai Spring Rolls at Krung Thai

Thai Spring Rolls, 4pcs. at 99 Pesos

I didn’t realize that in the middle of Marikina City there would be a Thai restaurant that is as good (or better) as the Thai restaurants iin the posh areas of the metro. It’s just behind a public area (Marikina Public Market) and it’s not known to many.

During my birthday last Feb 28th, me and my fellow bloggers (Aileen, Melo, Gail, Marc, JayDJ, Karla and Migs) dined at this restaurant just to get together;seems that we’re a little stressed on the SM Marikina Wifi Stress Event. Nah, just kidding. Anyway, Aileen suggested that we eat here and so our gastronomic cravings headed up to this place. Continue reading “Krung Thai: A Hidden Thai Cuisine Getaway in Marikina”
