Wee Nam Kee

Wee Nam Kee's kitchen

The market for Singaporean food is fast becoming popular here. Many Singapore based restaurants are now opening their branches here in Manila (such as Toast Box, Bread Talk, Ya Kun Kaya and many more), reaching out to Filipinos and even foreign nationals who are used to these restaurants / cafes in Singapore and one of which is Wee Nam Kee.

Wee Nam Kee has been an “institution” in the art of making Hainanese Chicken in Singapore. When news broke out that a branch of Wee Nam Kee will be opened here in Manila, Filipinos (and many others) who frequent the restaurant in Singapore were thrilled. Finally, A More Accessible Banapple – in Ayala Triangle Gardens

Banoffee Pie at Banapple
Banoffee Pie, 85 pesos per slice

Chic-Boy: Chicken at Baboy

Cebu Lechon Liempo at Chic-Boy
Cebu Lechon Liempo (Whole), PhP 155 per order

The name of Chic-Boy is obviously a word-play of their specialties chicken and pork (the English translation of “baboy”). There are a number of take-out stores in Metro Manila (mostly located in Quezon City). It’s good that they’ve opened a full fast food restaurant along Jupiter St. in Makati City. Yes to 24 hours of access to their sumptuous and sinful Cebu Lechon Liempo. :D Continue reading →

Persia Grill

( Hummus with Pita Bread)

Persia Grill is a small restaurant located in Valero Carpark,  Valero St. Makati ( it’s right at the back of Paseo Center). Obviously from the name of the restaurant itself they serve Persian dishes however it’s somewhat “Filipinized”. I’ve heard about this place since the owner of this restaurant is actually Kian from Pinoy Big Brother Season 2. It was a graduation gift for him after college. We were around the area that’s why we decided to eat at this restaurant. Continue reading →
