Sizzling Pepper Steak at Glorietta 5

It was our first time to eat at Sizzling Pepper Steak in Glorietta 5. The people behind Sizzling Pepper Steak is the same as the people behind Teriyaki Boy. It is also know as the cheaper version of Pepper Lunch.

The Glorietta 5 branch has an air-conditioned space and they also have tables and chairs setup at the balcony or terrace. We preferred to stay at the terrace since we want to minimize the possibilities of smelling like a sizzling pepper steak.

For our appetizer, we had a chicken salad which is good for two people. The salad has plenty of greens topped with slices of ripe mangoes, pine nuts, grapes and chicken mayo dressing. Some of the ingredients used in the salad reminded us of our favorite salad at Italianni’s.

For our main course, we ordered Beef Pepper Rice and Chicken Pepper Rice. Beef Pepper Rice is served in a sizzling plate with thin slices of beef. The do-it-yourself part here is you will just have to pour the sauce. The Chicken Pepper Rice is served also in a sizzling plate with cubed chicken that is sauteed in taro sauce, onions and bell peppers.

Quality of Food
The portions of beef and chicken weren’t that generous enough to satisfy those who have a big appetite. Thus, a single order of either a beef pepper rice or a chicken pepper rice won’t be enough. In addition, an order of an appetizer must be ordered as well. As for the taste, it’s something that you won’t really rave about.

the rice in your 1st photo here looks half-cooked. and the pepper outershell servings appear scanty. was it worth it?
my family and i are bias with peppper lunch (in shangri la and powerplant) having dined at both branches several times. have you tried PL?

@docgelo,
haven’t tried pepper lunch yet but i’d love to :)
well, the quality was compensated because of the price
if me and Sharlyne will be in either powerplant or shangri-la, we’d probably try it :)

@u8mypinkcookies,
As mentioned in my blogpost above, there’s nothing really to rave about this resto. Mind to share your experience while dining in Glorietta 5?
