Pork Katsudon (around PHP 140 – 150)
It’s a simple and right in your face kind of restaurant. After hearing the raving of people from my social network, I decided to have a taste of the best seller Chicken Katsudon. Crazy Katsu is located in Maginhawa Street, the popular food strip along the residential area of Teacher’s Village Quezon City. It’s a collaboration of two drummers – Shinji Tanaka (drummer of Gaijin and SLEX) and Bryan Kong (drummer of Taken By Cars). Who says that aside from Music, they can’t collaborate in the food business?

Since the menu is very limited and very cheap ( I think there are only 5 dishes on it) we tried everything except the Pork Ginger (because it ran out of stock). The food was ok but the Chicken Katsu was superb. The sauce actually brings in the flavor – a sour-spicy taste which compliments the chicken very well. We had an additional order because it was perfect as a pica-pica while chatting with friends. If you are not a fan of fried food, this is not for you.

Aside from food, they also sell CDs of the owners’ bands such as Taken By Cars and Gaijin.
I bought my Gaijin CD there because I couldn’t go to gigs yet due to my recovery.

We own the arcade right next to crazy katsu, the ones with Al-Fakr persian and Friuli! wow, i didn’t realize crazy katsu is co-owned by mr tanaka, until my friend told me.
maginhawa seems to “boom” now as a food strip – lots of choices along its length. way back, our street was just a quaint neighborhood. now, i see lots of familiar people outside our house. times have indeed changed
