Bona Coffee: I Wanna Get High!

Bona Coffee drink

Quadruple Espresso

While waiting for the Eraserheads Reunion Concert in SM Mall of Asia to start, Karla and I decided to hang out at Bona Coffee which is just opposite the concert grounds. We have heard lots of raves about this coffee shop (especially from the Southen Manila people and bloggers too) that’s why it became a factor for us to spend our pre-Eraserheads concert time there :) .

The sun was high (arrived there around 1 pm) so we decided to have ice blended drinks to cool us down.  Karla ordered Chocolate Macadamia (iced blended) and to give me a doze of extra caffeine for the concert (because I slept 5 am at that time), I ordered Quadruple Espresso. It made me awake and gave me extra perky power during the concert.

Anyway, since it was our first time the crew greeted us also approached us from time to time just to make sure we’re ok. They also told us some of their best sellers and told us that their drinks and food have lower calories which makes them different from the usual coffee shops that are mushrooming all over the country and the world.

Choco Banana Muffin

Bona Coffee (Bona short for BOhemian NAtion) is a Filipino owned company which started in 2006 with its flagship branch in BF Paranaque. Their newest branch is at the San Miguel By the Bay just a month ago. Owners of Bona Coffee, Luis and Candace Gonzales, want to let customers experience a different feel with their coffee shop. They want their employees to rapport with customers and leaving them a mark when they leave. For me that is really important and I really appreciated the fact that they have great coffee and even employees. Since it was the Eheads concert will be happening in a few hours, I told Karla to give her 2 extra tickets (bronze) to anyone who would want to watch the concert after their shifts. As a token of their appreciation, they gave us a choco banana muffin and an oatmeal cookie. (By the way, they bake their own muffins. ) We already ate lunch but we still ate them ;) .

By the way, they have free wi-fi which you can abuse 24/7. Yes, they are open 24/7 so you can abuse their services haha. If you feel alone, the employees are there to entertain you. This place will make you high, not because of illegal substances but because of great coffee, food and service. They will be opening their new branches in Makati, Ortigas, Eastwood, Sta. Rosa and even overseas! You may visit their website for further updates. Below are their other existing branches:

YAY, Bona Coffee! I super love it in their BF branch. You should try their blended Chai tea latte, but they ran out of it.
