Big Daddy’s Chicken is a popular chicken chop brand in Taiwan and they’ve just opened their branches here in Manila. They’re located at the Greenhills Theater Mall and a the Ground Floor of the Entertainment Mall of SM Mall Asia.
Owners of Big Daddy’s Chicken invited us to their blogger’s night at the SM Mall of Asia a few weeks ago but since we couldn’t go there on the event date itself, we’ve decided to go to their Greenhills stall on our own before the event happened. Kutchay (Chives) Dumplings @ Php 68
Sometimes in life, we take for granted common things because we’re just used to seeing them often. Gilmore Street was a common route that we pass by whenever we go to Greenhills. Mien San was just a small restaurant then at the middle of a road which doesn’t have that much restaurants around back in the 90′s. And now, the restaurant had already expanded and noticed that the place was always packed. I have always been curious about Mien San even before I started a food blog but I never exerted effort to drop by and try their place. Thanks to Yen Yen, their newest competitor around the area, I had the eagerness to actually visit the place and try dishes.
I was there last week with my mom and tried the specialties of the house. I didn’t blog about it first because I wanted to go there for the second time to try other dishes. Crispy Taoso Beancurd @ Php 148
Someone from Yen Yen emailed us and recommended that we try their restaurant. I looked at their Facebook fan page and got really curious on this small food haven near Greenhills. Karla and I dragged 2 of our foodie friends to try Yen Yen out last Saturday before going to Cinemalaya. The place is not that hard to find, if you’re familiar with Gilmore, just go straight ahead from Aurora Boulevard. It’s at the right side and near JT’s Inasal.
Yen Yen boasts that they’re one of the cheapest places to dine in town. When I looked at their menu in Facebook, they’re indeed cheap. With prices ranging from Php 18 – Php 238 per dish, not bad! Of course, we’re not only after the price of the food but also the quality. Continue reading →
