Mexican cuisine is a style of food that originated in Mexico with a considerable Spanish influence. Mexican cuisine is known for its varied flavors, colorful decoration, and variety of spices.

There are only a few places where I can have my Mexican food fest here in Manila. I wish there could be more options to choose from but only a few made it to my list. Because there are only a few Mexican restaurants here in Manila, I believe that the competition is stiff. If you’re a new player in the market, you have to give your customers a different kind of experience. Agave Mexican Cantina have been around for two years with its first branch at Eastwood. There are only quite a few Mexican restaurants in Manila that can be considered good. The only three restaurants that come to mind whenever I have Mexican food cravings are Chilli’s, Mexicali and Tia Maria’s. I’m glad that there is a new Mexican restaurant in town that serves fresh and quality Mexican food. It’s called Ristras, and is the hottest Mexican place to be in Manila right now.

Ristras refer to the “arrangements of drying chile pepper pods” (according to Wiki). It is done to preserve the chilis or can also be used as a design ornament. I am guessing that this is the reason why the restaurant was named as such: it gives hungry customers the Mexican imagery.

When I really crave for burritos, Mexicali is the place to be. I am really a fan of Mexican food here in Mexicali. Karla and I usually frequent the Mexicali restaurant in Glorietta but we have also tried Mexicali in Megamall .
