Upon walking towards John and Yoko (the restaurant), I already felt this cosmopolitan ambiance. When I got inside, it seemed to be a restaurant bar (because of the lighting) but it’s not really one. I’ve learned that it’s one of Marvin Agustin’s business ventures. (more…)

Abe, where good friends dine

Lamb Adobo Bencab (PhP 350 per serving)When it was my first time to eat at Abe restaurant (Serendra branch), we waited for some time because the restaurant is already full. Anyway, we still waited because our relatives from Las Vegas were craving for something new yet something Pinoy. The
second time I went there (this time with Sha and Baby), we arrived there with no lines. Hence, we decided to eat there. 🙂 (more…) -
Ma Mon Luk: Still serving the best mami and siopao
If you want some mami and siopao experience that is already written in history, go to Ma Mon Luk in either Quiapo or along Quezon Ave. near Banawe. Those are the only two existing branches of Ma Mon Luk. Since Ma Mon Luk’s death on September 21, 1961, three generations have been succeeded already and I’m glad it’s still there. 🙂 (more…)

Fish out of Water
Fish out of Water according to The New Dictionary of Cultural Literacy:
Someone who is out of his or her normal environment or range of activities
Fish out of Water (also by Red Crab) is just one of the must-try restaurants at Greenbelt 5. Fish out of Water is for someone who enjoys a one of a kind gastronomic adventure. In addition, those who enjoy exotic food like frogs, ostriches and wild boars would really enjoy dining there. Of course, their menu offering is not limited to exotic food. 😀 (more…)

The difference between Pizza Hut and Pizza Hut Bistro
Prior to dining at Pizza Hut Bistro, I was already intrigued by how’s the menu offering different from the regular Pizza Hut. Upon entering the restaurant at Gateway, I was impressed with the ambiance. The restaurant has a set of mood lights and much larger tables covered with cloth. On top of a table is a vase with an anthurium which made me think of funerals. (more…)

Seafood at Aling Mahsya

Shopping for Sugpo at Dampa along Diosdado Macapagal Avenue.Seafood lovers would call Diosdoda Macapagal Avenue their haven. Prior to the restaurants found along the area, there’s the famous Dampa at Paranaque City. And there was Seafood Market which is also like Dampa-style (you even have to shop also for the vegetables aside from the seafood itself). Just like any Dampa-style restaurant, the first thing that you have to do is to market for the seafood. (more…)

Cyma Estiatorio at Greenbelt 2
We celebrated Mother’s day at Cyma Estiatorio in Greenbelt 2 since Mom is craving for something Greek. 😀 For our appetizer, we had Hummous (which is really spelled as Hummus but they spelled it that way in the menu) served with 2 pita breads (each pita bread divided into four). Hummous is a dip made of mashed chickpeas (garbanzos) blended with tahini, lemon juice, salt and garlic. (more…)

The Conveyor Belt Sushi at Genji
Conveyor system for sushi in a Japanese restaurant in Croydon, EnglandThe video above that you are seeing right now is actually similar to the one in Genji. The restaurant is located in Greenhills and is a must-try for those who haven’t eaten there yet. The plates on the conveyor belt are color coded and each color corresponds to a price. It was my first time to try one and I was pretty amazed of the ingenuity of Yoshiaki Shiraishi, the inventor of the conveyor belt sushi, otherwise known as sushi train [source]. (more…)
