Amici: Pizza, Pasta, Gelato and more

Cannelonni by Amici
Cannelonni Agli Spinaci ( Php 180)

Amici has just recently opened their branch in Tomas Morato, QC. It’s in Bellagio Square, right under Ratsky’s and beside Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf. Their original branch was near Don Bosco. Many people I know recommended this restaurant for us to try and so we did.

We only ordered 2 things on the menu which is the Cannelonni Agli Spinaci and Italian Sausage. The Cannelonni was ok, nothing really spectacular however the Italian Sausage, I must say is a must try there. It’s juicy and very meaty. As for the vegetable sidings, it has no taste. I wish they have at least boiled it with salt.

What I noticed in the place is that it’s too “fastfoody” ( if there is such a term), meaning people just come and go, everthing is self service. It’s nothing really bad about fastfood it’s just that maybe I am used to Sbarro’s set up. Sbarro is an Italian fastfood but you can still feel that it is a restaurant different from your regular fastfood joints.

Amici Gelato
Various Gelato flavors to choose from ( priced at Php 45 and Php 50 depending on the flavor)

One thing I can commend this restaurant is there gelatos. It’s delicious and cheap. They have lots of flavors to choose from so you can still get another round if you’re finished with one. :) I chose the Pistachio Gelato because it’s really my favorite.

So I would say that my over-all experience with Amici is ok, like I said earlier nothing really spectacular. Also the prices of their food ranges from Php 160-300+ and most of their food are good for sharing. For Php 160 you can already order the Spaghetti Al Pomodoro ( classic tomato sauch, parmesa cheese and fresh basil) or Spaghetti Aglio Olio E Pepperoncino ( Pasta with lots of garlic, olive oil and chilies). Their pizzas are 12 inches wide and the cheapest pizzas there are Margherita ( Mozzarella cheese and fresh basil), Capricciosa (Spicy Pepperoni, Italian Sausage and olives), Prosciutto E Funghi ( Mushrooms and smoked ham) and Napoletana (Mozzarella cheese, anchovies and olives).

@venice, speaking of gelato, there’s one coffee shop here in better living that has gelato, I think me and Sha should check out if it’s good :D

i think mala-fastfood ito kasi the original one was in don bosco nga which is a school. so parang hi-end cafeteria ang dating. been to that branch once. special night. anyway…the one in morato, considering it’s sooooo near where i work (alfredo’s), i have not been to. i’m glad to know meron sa megamall. poor sbarro. haha. mapuntahan nga.

I’ve been to the 3 branches question is bakit iba-iba ang set-up nila. Is this a new tactics of the new management??? Para macurious mga tao, so that they will have to wait for their new soon to open branches? Anyway, ano pa man ang sagot. I would still recommend the original branch which is located at don bosco…(kasi alumni ako.. haha) kidding aside, as you have said hi-end cafeteria style. All the staff there are very accomodating even the manager you won’t even think she’s the manager coz the way she talks & give commands is very malumanay. About the food, still great. Thumbs up for AMICI.

hey! we have the same name! Katukayo!

what happened to those cute ensaymada in the green and red boxes? price was so good and it was perfect for giveaways. they replaced the well-loved ensaymada with a pricier premium kind. i love the small ones. pls bring them back
